Nationwide Framework with Bluechip Construction Company

Vac-Ex Hire has recently been involved in nationwide framework agreements with major Blue chip construction companies to work within the UK National Grid substation network, with upgrades and maintenance works within the South West, South East, The Midlands, North East and Scotland.

Job Description

The works entailed perimeter, foundation and reduced level dig excavations to establish unknown and uncharted services, these all needed to be completed safely by non-invasive vacuum excavation(Vac-Ex)techniques.

Solution

1. The mobilisation of 1 of our fleet of 32 tonne 8 wheeled Vac-Ex hire units c/w the “Mega” hydraulic power arm for maximum radial whilst excavating.
2. The operators were all experienced National Grid Person(Substation)accredited/trained, therefore eligible to undertake the complex works.
3. The computerised “height restrictor” was enabled on the machine to govern the Vac-Ex unit, so the agreed height limit would not be exceeded.

Conclusion

The Vac-Ex element of all the nationwide works were all completed to the tight program with great production rates and zero strikes.
