Vac-Ex were asked to provide vacuum excavation to the Micheldean WTW reservoir based in Gloucestershire. The works involved excavating an unknown depth of concrete on the roof of the reservoir. The structure is mainly underground and looks similar to a large, raised football pitch.
The use of extensions was required to clear the reservoir roof of its stone material.
Access to the reservoir and the distance from the vacuum excavation unit.
32 tonne “Mega” Vac-Ex used with 70 metres of extension kit to vacuum stone material away.
Works completed to programme with ZERO strikes. There were no reported incidents in respect of service strikes.
