Culvert Works Louth
Culvert Works
Background
Watercourses such as culverts are designed to drain surface water away, before the water levels increase to an extent that puts property, roads, land and infrastructure at risk of flooding. We were asked to provide our vacuum excavation services in Louth due to a large build-up of silt in the riverway under a bridge.
Job Description
Silt to be removed from the large concrete base of the riverway.
Key Issues
Limited access to removal of silt and works conducted in a live watercourse.
Solution
To divert the water course to allow access for the 32t Mega Vac-Ex unit with the use of extensions to clear silt and replace with concrete.
Conclusion
Silt cleared and concrete raft replaced with minimal disruption to watercourse with ZERO strikes. There were no reported incidents in respect of service strikes.
Over 1 Million working hours with zero strikes.
